Business Issues

• Provides additional protections against citations for businesses who request technical assistance to comply with regulations - IBA members SUPPORT
• Comprehensive reform of regulations imposed by state agencies - IBA members SUPPORT
• Replaces current state civil service law with collective bargaining - IBA members OPPOSE

Legislation Affecting Employment

• Protects employers from lawsuits when they give a honest reference of a former employee - IBA members SUPPORT
• Requires employers to provide leave to employees who are victims or a family member of a victim of a crime that resulted in physical injury - IBA members OPPOSE
• Enacts "family leave insurance" where employees taking leave can collect up to $250 per week for up to 5 weeks and both employers and employees pay a 1 cent tax per hour to fund these new benefits - IBA members OPPOSE

Ergonomics Issues

• Delays the enforcement of the state's ergonomics rule for 2 years and accelerates the delivery of ergonomics awareness education

Health Care Related Legislation

• Will replace current private insurance marketplace with state controlled health care system - IBA members OPPOSE

Industrial Insurance Related Legislation

• Pays industrial insurance benefits while an appeal filed by the employers is considered - IBA members OPPOSE

Tax Related Legislation

• Reforms and limits cities imposing business license fees on out-of-city businesses - IBA members SUPPORT

Unemployment Compensation Related Legislation

• Corrects inconsistencies between state unemployment laws and federal unemployment laws to avoid a $378 per worker tax increase - IBA member SUPPORT
